I promised that I would follow through and let you know if I kept my promise.
Well, I did, sort of. I woke up on Saturday morning and was on the treadmill by 9:15am. Let me tell you something, it felt great. Well, it felt great in the way that your entire body hurts from head to toe from the physical activity. Saturday was the first time since July that I have done cardio – so I didn’t quite make it my 3 miles. I only made it 2.13 but you know what? I’m still incredibly proud.
The thing is, it doesn’t matter how far you run the first time. What matters is that you took the first step to a healthier life and did it. When I woke up on Saturday morning, I didn’t want to get out of bed and go exercise. I wanted to get up, make a cup of coffee and continue my One Tree Hill marathon. I forced myself to do it and as a result, I felt a lot better. You just have to find your motivation. Mine comes from proving to people that I CAN be in better shape. I can run faster. I can eat better.
You can too.
